A PARTNERSHIP FOR SUSTAINABLE TROPICAL DRIED FRUIT FROM GHANA

Bomarts has become one of our most important partners. Within the context of this close partnership, a cooperative of small holders was founded. The aim is to build a productive and long-lasting supply chain for sustainably and fairly produced tropical dried fruit. Today, the Adumanya Cooperative has 34 members who supply their Fairtrade certified fruits to Bomarts. The product portfolio includes: dried mangoes, dried pineapple, papaya, coconut and bananas. Recently, dried mangoes and pineapples have been offered in organic quality.

HAPPY HAZELNUT – COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABLE HAZELNUTS FROM TURKEY

Happy Hazelnut was launched as a project in 2013 with the aim of contributing to a socially and environmentally sustainable hazelnut production in Turkey with concrete and innovative solutions. Today, Happy Hazlenut has become a long-term partnership commitment with the aim of tracing hazelnuts back to the farmer, providing childcare during parents‘ working hours, ensuring good standards for harvest workers and promoting organic farming and good agricultural practice.

Our project for Fairtrade and Organic Coconuts from Sri Lanka

Tahoma is a state-of-the-art coconut factory that started production just recently in 2023. It produces desiccated coconut, fine and medium, coconut chips, virgin coconut oil, and coconut flour as a by-product from the oil. Yearly production capacities for those coconut products are 2’500 MT for the food industry all over the world. Apart from the about 120 people that are employed directly in the factory, additional 250 farmers deliver its coconuts for production.

The farmer network of about 250 farmers, 150 of which are fairtrade certified is managed by Tahoma’s well established sister company Target Agriculture which supports the farmers with own field staff in organic and fairtrade related topics.
