Sustainability in our business model

Step by step towards a more
sustainable future

Sustainable procurement is about much more than certification. It is the cornerstone of responsible corporate governance. Within the company it must be initiated, lived and thus supported by the executive management. At the heart of sustainable procurement are the partnerships with the producers at the origin. We understand true partnership as a joint, close and long-term cooperation at eye level, in which investments are made and in which people can grow together. Our understanding of sustainable procurement and its implementation distinguishes our actions and sets us apart from others.

Suppliers are our customers. As partners we offer support and want to offer them added value.

We provide support in many areas: quality assurance, food safety, founding of cooperatives and promoting certified cultivation.
SUSTAINABILITY PROJECTS
We are committed to sustainable agriculture and to invest in joint co-creation projects to improve sustainability.

SUSTAINABILITY AT VARISTOR

Integrating sustainable procurement into our daily business is not sufficient. To promote and embed sustainability in the supply chain, we are therefore additionally focusing on the following measures:

CERTIFIED RAW MATERIALS
We procure a large proportion of certified products. Our aim is to continuously increase this proportion by reorganising supply chains and raising customers' awareness of the benefits of sustainable products.
COMPLIANCE & DUE DILIGENCE
yourharvest is a member of the Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) and is committed to comply with minimum ecological and social standards along the value chain. All suppliers have to sign the BSCI Code of Conduct and risk-based audits are carried out.
INVESTMENTS & PROJECTS
Sustainability requires investments which go beyond the requirements of label standards. For this reason, we are engaged at a local level by investing and implementing projects in the growing regions along the value chain.
COOPERATION IN NETWORKS
To implement sustainability effectively, cooperation with various actors is necessary. This is why we work together with different partner organisations to learn from each other in a collaborative way.
